Authors of the 20th Century
Immediately after the end of the Second World War people began to think that the world’s essential ethical foundations are understandable and coherent . Both general politics and social relations were counting on the concepts of development, positive change , belief in the rational , enlightenment , hi-tech innovations , and the ability to substantiate any activity from a logical standpoint . However , beginning from the second half of the 60’s, the world has begun to change and now , 40 years thereafter , we find ourselves in a different type of actuality .
We effortlessly mark those innovations which are brought to us by new technology, but we rarely are aware of the fact that there are certain ideas which the author has put behind those solutions . The nature of the expected adjustment was initially tracked by those people, who as a rule lived anteceding their time – poets and authors. Among the many authors whose works have served for entertainment , there have been several of them who have given people a new vision . They have better than others other people formed and voiced fresh ideas and have ultimately molded a fresh intellectual and perceptual grounding of the future. They have seen challenges in the mundane of our lives and have unveiled a number of problems, which were dragging on without being noted . They have helped us to think of the new issues , and have given us new hope .
These were the authors who have shaped the thoughts of the entire generation, which has observed the period of dramatic change; change, which was seen as mayhem at the beginning of the 21 first century. They have turned our attention to the most burning issues of the last epoch ; those problems , which the humankind , having survived through the global wars and wild number of deaths, was afraid to face . Lastly they were voicing the the most topical issue “How will we live in the world of future?”
In this work we will specify several of the most well known writers of the last century. They have all quite affected literature of their epoch, have reflected looks and dilemmas which were classic to their society and the period they were living in, and have motivated the audience meditate on the actual system of moral, having them understand that it is far from being perfect. One of the most important feature of their work is that in often they have risen the readers’ interest in books and written matter. In this aspect one of the most interesting success stories is that of a brilliant author Anne Bronte .
The achievement of Joan Rowling can be considered special as she has found herself to be the first writer in the world to make $1 billion by authoring fairytales. She is currently spending a great part of her profit on charity, battling poverty and illness. The plot of the book was found while she was on the train from Manchester to London. When the publisher has first agreed to publish her book, she has awarded her 1500 pounds together with a friendly advice — to find a stable job. He was unaware of the idea that the young author would be able to make a living off of writing books. Joann has demonstrated the opposite - having published a number of amazing fairytales, she has made the so-called non-reading people get back to reading books.
This article cannot name and more or less accurately list all authors who have made their contribution to the world’s literature. They have been working and putting ideas exactly into the heads of the millions, and therefore were influencing the future. Thus, as we can see, these writers were not creating for entertainment only, but they were also playing a considerable part in creating the culture and the vision of a civilization of the 20th century.
