Whom to Blame: Is it users of SEO applications or is it Google?
I admit. Prior to finding out about SEO programs and site promotion field, I thought Google was the best thing ever. I Used Google to look for everything from people, to photography, to articles to weird objects and heedlessly trusted the results. Then I found out about SEO tools and a separate field dedicated to site promotion, and my beliefs changed. But even prior to my discovery, after doing a bit of reflective analysis, I got a hunch that search engines, Google included, know far from everything, and pass on to the users even less than that.
My Google escapades soon persuaded me that Flikr is a better image data bank, that with the help of Digg I can get interesting current events coverage without the need to rummage through Google search findings (rummaging seems more appropriate than Google search), and human search is better administered by Facebook. It seems that whenever I look for strange objects on Google, the results are often messy, to put it mildly. Try searching for SEO apps and other SEO related themes on Google and you are just about prepared to lose your patience. I mean, come on, what’s the connection between SEO products and employment webpages or Internet casinos? Turns out in my distress.
So when news of seo management software and the whole field built around it invaded my humble worldview, my suspicions about websites surfacing out on first page of Google grew manifold. Do they deserve to show up on there and who is to blame, Google or site promoters using SEO apps. The ethical dilemma is huge. Do I stop using my SEO google rank checker or do I stop using Google instead? I resolved that I can’t boycott Google just yet. At least not until the worthy contender enters the picture. For now I will keep juggling between Blekko, Google and the above methods to complement the SERP mess that Google is. And, oh,yes, I will keep playing with my SEO tools.
To be honest, SEO apps is the reason why folks like myself get discovered on the Internet. intelligent as they are, Google web crawlers are not likely to find some random person and position his site highly. In this respect, I am a firm admirer of SEO apps and natural search. If it was all about the cash, the corporate giants would squish me before I knew it. And there are hundreds of companies on the Fortune list! But here is something else that annoys me and other backlink checker users, I am sure. There are guys who purchase SEO apps and use them to sell dresseson online education sites and such. What we are left with is junk that not only exists on the web but is also highly indexed by Google.
What is the public perspective on this? People Google SEO application reviews and will instead find junk SERPs. They get disappointed. So much for the “Internet justice”. Does this indicate that SEO software and service field is harmful? Not necessarily.
The abusers of SEO products need to stop corrupting the Web but it’s like ordering hackers to stop cracking the code. The sad side about it is that black hat SEOs are overusing the chance to be seen on the Net that is offered to the random person like myself. For now people just have to live with them. We can only wish that Google will put more effort into catching the schemers abusing SEO tools, and if Google doesn’t, the competitor Google will.
